Turkey Gobble When to use the call?

When do i use this call ? I was wandering if any of yall have ever had any success using this call?

    You don't need that call.

Stick to being a hen. If they hang up, either cut at them or perfect a nice soft purr, followed by a cluck. Gobbling is for show.

I have killed many of turkey over the years and have never used one. I seen it on sale for 10 bucks so i thought why not.

I know that feeling!! I could only imagine how great my garage would look if I didn't have half the stuff that I just "had" to have.

Two weeks ago the gobblers were not responding to hen calls, they would respond to gobbles. So, I tried gobbling at them with limited success. Sitting at a feeder in a pouring down thunder storm 3 gobblers came in. They were not hanging out just passing thru. I tried hen calls, purrs and clucks. They were still going away. I gobbled once and they stopped dead in their tracks. Two left after the wife shot. She scored on her best bird yet. 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.

I've used one as a locator call with some success - like you would with an owl hooter or a pileated woodpecker call.

If the gobbler hangs up out of sight, sometimes a gobble call can make him think he is losing a hen to a different gobbler. That is the only time I have ever used a gobble call and had any kind of positive response.

This has been my experience as well.

I would only use one on private property. Several hunters have been killed using a gobbler call on public land.

I called a gobbler in last weekend using a mix of hen sounds and the Primos gobble call. I think the gobble call did help. That Tom came in drumming and ready to fight.
