    Galveston Ironman 70.3

On my way to Galveston for my first ever triathlon. So far the weather forecast is looking awesome for Sunday morning to swim, bike, run. We grabbed a hotel north of Ennis for the night and then head to Galveston. Six months of training and ready to go...

I will be really really really happy to just finish. I am 56 years and never swam a lap in my life up until December 1, 2014. I am looking forward to it and hope to finish in 7 hours.

Your first and you're doing a full triathlon?! More power to you brother! Just remember to keep your pace and remember your only racing yourself. Good luck!

you'll do fine. the swim is in a protective cove, not the bay.
Ive done several and Ive paddles safety boat in dozens of tri's.
Dont start out to strong, your breathing will get out of control and do NOT be afraid to grab a safety boat to catch your breath, thats why they are there.

Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition. Make sure you have a plan and stick to it. Drink water before you start sweating. Enjoy.

I've got the .3 covered if you wanna handle the 70. I'm all about teamwork.

                        Good luck to you.

                            That's great. I'm sure you'll do fine.

I drank about a gallon of Lake Austin water when I did my first..... I'd recommend NOT doing that in Galveston Bay.

                            Good luck!
