    Rewards

I love getting rewards for shopping certain places or using certain credit cards, which got me curious of what all is out there. I primarily shop at HEB but do go to Krogers occasionally, so I just used my rewards for fuel.u

I use a Basspro gift card for about $2k monthly and get a small amount from them. Also several dining establishments offer various rewards.

    What rewards do you utilize?

I use Southwest airlines credit card and their Southwest Shopping website to get points. I flew 19 times last year for free.

I haven't had a credit card in 31 yrs. I find it silly to go in debt $100 just to get 5 in reward points.

We put everything on our Capital One Venture Card and pay it off each month. I typically use the points to erase travel purchases since it is the best value on their system. We recently took a free trip to San Fran and will have a free trip to Chicago here soon for later next Fall.

We also shop at Target for most of the groceries / house hold items and use their 5% off option. We do shop at Kroger and use on fuel points.

I use an Academy card for everything. Same thing, pay it off every month, pretty much every week or so.

Been thinking about just going back to my USAA rewards card where they give you cash.

Good for you. Now if you were gonna spend that $100 anyhow and got the points where is the problem? If you have the discipline to use them wisely you can beat them at their own game.

I don't see it as "going in debt" if you pay it off each month before you accrue any interest. Look at the posts on this thread alone... people are cashing in for thousands worth of goods or services at no cost to them.

I also get a lot of free hotel rooms through Hilton Honors.

Like my former boss told me, "never travel for free"
