You probably had some promotional plan or billing discounts that have stopped. This happened to me about 5 months ago. Called them up and it was "oh yeah, this, this and this fell off but we can do this, this and this to lower it." Anyway, long story short, they cut my Uverse and internet package about $80/month.

for cell phones- switch over to cricketwireless.com its dirt cheap, no contract and it is still att network. all taxes and everything included in the price shown. my wife and i switched over to them from att about 2 years ago and dont regret it one bit. i still get same coverage as had with att works out in the boonies etc but we pay about 80/m for unlimited everything vs the $200 we were paying with att.

Yeah, you've probably been HAD with all the crap they promise you up front....especially if you switched from another carrier. They promise you the moon when trying to sell you on their service (with extra incentives, extra discounts, credits, etc). Then once you sign up the bill slowly creeps up month after month and is such a PITA to read (with all the false charges, credits, taxes).
So ultimately, when you've finally had enough...you have to call CS and threaten to cancel service before they will do anything for you...and you guessed it, that's when they give you the extra credits, promotions, blah blah blah. Of course, those slowly disappear and your bill goes back up in a few months. So this is an endless cycle that repeats itself every so often. I don't have time for that crap every few months...which I think is their master plan!
Sorry, rant over!

I have had At&t cell service for about 10 years. Their CS is the best I have ever had to deal with, and their service is top notch. I used to have their internet, and the only reason I dropped that is because I wasn't using it. TWC offered me a 2Mbps and Uverse could not.
I would recommend you just make a call every 6 months and get a new promo deal.

Att kept spiking my and my wife's bill on phones and uverse, we did the bundle thing, they it would stay the same every month but it was always different we were paying like 350+ so we dropped them and got verizion. Love the phones, love the reception, but man they don't play about some taxes, it says on my bill every month that there's state tax, gov tax prevention, then gov tax! It all adds up to about $130 its ridiculous. I'd say the best I've ever had was a $40/month att go plan on an iPhone 4s
