    Anyone with bear hunting experience??

    Hey fellas,
Im new to the texasbowhunter site and have always enjoyed reading the discussion section. I'm a baseball player from Texas who is always traveling the country looking for a new adventure. A good buddy of mine that i grew up with(SonoftheSouth - Keith) and I have been talking about getting together a last minute black bear hunt over bait this fall. Has anyone hunted black bears in the fall(hopefully Oct.) out of state or Canada? I really have no particular location that im looking to hunt except somewhere that i can buy tag and license over the counter. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge about this or a quality guide that could help out? Thanks a lot and looking forward to meeting some of ya'll down the road.

John, you might get lucky and find a few fellers on here that can help you out.... I too have been wanting to go on a bear hunt, but really want a spring hunt when the bears coats are full and dont have as many rubs on them it seems every time I get on planned life gets in the way ..

Contact Roger Osmond of White Mud Outfitters in Alberta. He hunts the Rainbow Lakes area of Northern Alberta, Eastern B/C, and southern Northern Territory. You get two bears and will have plenty of opportunities at giant bears and some wolves. The cool thing about it is these bears don't see humans and will come up the tree to check you out. Talk about gut check, its cool though. We had a great trip and I would recommend him. Also, bring a mouse squeaker as the bears that are hesitant will come right in to check the call. Good Luck, Pm me if you need any more info.
