The bill will have to go for a third reading in the House before it is sent to the Senate. The third reading of this bill will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at noon. According to link.

Don't worry, you're still safe, for now. When this thing passes, you'll have to barricade yourself in the house so start stocking plenty of food and water!

The news just said one more vote before going to governor. If they're right for once. But would expect and hope they have someone proficient in Texas legislation

I heard the had to change some of the language in the bill then it would pass and on to the GOV desk. Take effect Jan 1 2016

To this and your earlier question, yes the bills have to match word for word. If one side changes anything, it has to go back to a conference. Then a final agreed on bill can be voted on either with the agreed on amendment or the removing of it. Either they have to come to a compromise or one side has to give up on the amendment.

In this case I think the amendment is lowering the criminal offense under trespassing 30.06 from a B misdemeanor (6 months in jail and/or $2,000 fine maximum) to a C misdemeanor ($500 fine maximum). I can see no compromise available as they are one degree apart. If one side wanted a C and the other wanted an A, I could see how they could compromise on a B but that will not apply to this situation.

i hate to ask this stupid ? but does that mean you can carry open now w/out concealed hand gun license or do you still have to take a class if the open carry passes?
