    Novice Shooter

I am a novice bow shooter. Just purchased a slightly used complete bow setup (bow, case, arrows, tips, shooting block, release, etc.). I have been shooting on my own but think I need to get to an actual archery shop or with someone who can help me with form and technique. I am committed to practice and want to get better so this coming hunting season I can try to deer hunt using a bow.
I am in the Waxahachie area and looking for a shop or someone to work with in my general area. Does anyone know of a person or place to assist me?

LROSE definitely talk to someone at a pro shop and learn from them, otherwise you will pick up some bad habits that will be hard to break later on. And don't forget, as the season approaches be sure to practice under hunting conditions. Elevated stand or pop up blind, camo clothing, head net, gloves on, low light, all that. Every chance you get try to practice shooting at a 3D target with the vitals marked on it. Best of luck to you and welcome to the archery obsession.

There is a real good chance that the bow isn't set to your build or the bow itself isn't properly setup. In both cases you won't be happy and won't progress in your archery quest. Archery isn't rocket science, but a incorrect setup will make it seem like it.
