    Difference between Hunters and Shooters

Me and my son were watching some hunting shows last night and we saw a guy shoot an awesome buck and seemed to not get excited after the shot it was as if he just wanted to hunt to he could be on TV. That's when I told him he wasn't a hunter he was just a shooter. I told him a hunter puts in the work after the season ends to improve (food plots, fill feeders, scouts) and become a better hunter. A shooter shows up and launches and arrow or pulls the trigger. I bet a bunch of leases have some shooters on their lease.

Not everyone high fives the camera man, screams yeeyee, and messes his britches.

Every hunter is different but some are just shooters I agree!

I get pumped and love putting in the work

I agree that there is a difference but I don't think it is in the reaction. I react differently in every situation. Sometimes totally calm and other times I giggle like a little girl.

I know people that only pull their rifles out once a year and will throw several bullets at an animal and maybe not even hit them properly.

I like to put in the work in year round. I constantly take my rifle out and practice and it doesn't hurt that I absolutely love shooting! HaHa!!

                  I don't have a panic attack after I take a shot.

Amen...After you have shot a few animals the need to come un-glued diminishes just a tad...Unless he has a picket fence rack on his head

                      I'm a shooter.

I wait and wait and wait until the animal I want steps out then I shoot it.

Me either. I must be a shooter. I haven't been truly excited about shooting anything since I was a teenager I imagine. Perhaps that is why I enjoy taking the kids hunting now because they still do get excited.

I've also run into what I call killers. The "Hunter" or "Shooter" that wants to just show up and kill whatever comes out. Killers are the ones that don't enjoy the journey.

The older I get, the more I really dislike labels. Especially when those labels come from an extremely limited look at a small slice of a persons life. But that's just me. Maybe that comes from having had to eat crow too many times.
