    Help Truck making noise

    2010 Tacoma 4x4

Way back from tball noticed a pretty loud grinding noise sounds like coming from my front end. From 30mph and on up.

    Checked drive shafts - good

Checked all wheel bearings when jacked up but all seem solid.

Feels and sounds like left front side. Almost like something is hanging up, like the sound will stop for a second and I could swear it rolls faster when it "lets go".

    Any ideas??

    Have same truck.
Replaced wheel bearing on driver's side at 55,000 miles.
Had been making noise for long time.
My first one to ever go bad.

Could be caliper hanging up. Is it pulling to the right or left?

Front wheel bearing would be my guess as well.

It has to be wheel bearings. no pulling. but the tires seems firm when jacked up. In auto school to check we jacked up and would push and pull tire. a bad wheel bearing was "loose"

Prob your caliper , pull off both sides and compare the pad thickness. They should be close .

Sounds like a caliper like said earlier post, jack it up and try to roll the wheel. If it's dragging could be a collapsed brake line, you can not tell it from looking at the outside of the hose

changed at same time of course so I will check both to start in the AM to rule that out.

Most the time I do, I only heard it because I was talking to mini me about tball.

rolled just fine when I was checking bearings, pulled in and out and then rolled the wheels. no drag I could feel.
