Not familiar with fire places cuz we don't need them in S TX.lol. Are there woods you can't burn in a fireplace?

Hedge, Osage Orange. Same tree. Builds up lots of creosote which can lead to chimney fires.

My fireplace guy says not to burn cedar--too much buildup, and not to burn lots of mesquite as it burns too hot. OK to throw a log on now and then, but no pure mesquite wood fires according to him.

Here's a link to a site that has a chart of different woods and their +/- for fireplace use--

This website is for sale! thelograck.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, thelograck.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

I think it is teak wood. very rare and valuable. You should cut it into small pieces and sell on craigslost

Looks like non-bearing mulberry to me. It is sort of hard to determine, but the leaves sure look like a mulberry. If it is mulberry, then you can burn it, but it is not one of the really good woods for making fires.

American Elm. You "can" burn it, but there are a ton of better wood types to put in a fireplace.

Not sure Terry but it does not look like the Elm tree I have. Maybe a different type of Elm
