    Boil Question

We are doing a boil for my daughters first Holy Communion. We are inviting about 110 people. We will be doing Crawfish, and Shrimp boils. I also plan on doing some sausage, corn, potatoes, and whole green beans in the boil. So for all you boil experts how much of each would you buy?

    200lbs of each
    30lbs of snausage
    30lbs of corn
    40lbs of tatoes
    Never did beans

For 30 ppl(adult eaters): 2 sacks of bugs,10# of 21-25 count shrimp. 15#sausage, 20# small red potatoes, 36 ears fresh corn snapped in half,8# of mushrooms, and 5# of edamame.. We have very little left overs.

If it was all crawfish, my go to, never fail, home run quantity calculator spits out:
        300 lbs. crawfish
        60 ears of corn
        50 links of sausage
100 lbs. red potatoes (make great leftovers)
??? green beans... never dun it... maybe figure 1/4 lb. per person max
15 lbs. white button mushrooms (always a hit)

that's if you were doing all mud bugs. if you want to swap shrimp in, do it for double the weight of the crawfish (i.e., if you want to do 20 lbs. of shrimp take out 40 lbs. of crawdads)

Where are y'all getting the bugs from? Was just gonna order live from HEB. Last time we boiled we didn't have edamame so we just threw in whole fresh green beans. May do the edamame again. The beans were a hit though. Thanks guys

The best bugs in Austin come from a specialty seafood shop (Quality) or a cajun meat market (Stuffed).

Yea that's what I'm thinking. She's my only one so I guess I can justify. Heck the meal is only part of it. We got the dress, decor, etc.
