My neighbors have it on their fence. My wife likes the way it looks. Anybody tell me any good or bad about them. It would be on our fence by road no where near my house

It is a climber and can cause damge to homes and fences.

It attracts a lot of bees but sometimes that can be a good thing especially if you have a garden! Otherwise, it is the scourge of the earth if you need to get rid of it!!! Its a prolific climber and will climb anything it touches. It will also take over any small trees or bushes it comes in contact with!!!! As stated, don't let it come near your house or any other structure and if you like the fence it is climbing on, nows the time to get rid of it!!!!! It will destroy a chain link fence in a couple years!!! The vine we had even climbed up and weighed down our power line to the point the power company had to come in and replace the pole because it was leaning so bad!!!!

If I decide on it then it should not be too bad. It will be all by itself on a pipe fence.

Yep the only way I would have wisteria is if it was planted in the middle of the yard at least 30' from anything it could climb and then train it to grow as a bush!!!! Even then that stuff worries me! Until you've fought a bad infestation of it, you don't know what you are up against!!!!! Its our version of kutzu!!!!! Worse than blackberry and honeysuckle combined!!!
