    OK, I think I understand what you are wanting now.

    Sure, The Despard switch idea will work. Like I mentioned before, they are difficult to work with, but look neat. Add a dimmer to the mix, and you're gonna have 10 pounds of **** in a 5 pound box, so take your time, and be very careful with your wire managements.

    Do not make the mistake of cutting the wires short to make more room in the box, it does not help. In fact, it makes it harder to stuff everything in there, because they don't want to fold neatly.

    I like the Pass & Seymour system of Despard switches better than the Leviton. Personal preference, no problem with quality from either.

      Why not just use a "double dimmer" switch and a regular switch in this box with a new cover. I had a similar setup in my old den.
