Why does my dog eat June bugs?

Mine would eat 50+ when he was younger and then...........vomit everyone of them in about 15 minutes!!! Glad he grew outta that!!!

I just got a dog, really a puppy. My daughter and I take her for walks and the dog eats them all the time. The first couple days I would try and get her to stop, now I just tell my daughter that they are like potato chips.

My mother in law used to have a little dog (a sheltie, I think,) that would fill up on June bugs and then go lay down behind her recliner and fart. And that concentration of gas would burn your eyes.....

But then I put pesticide down & now I don't have june bugs. Or dead spots in my yard!

I'm not talking about 1 or 2. It's all she can find on the porch which maybe 40-50 if I leave the light on.
