This stuff might do some good in mosquitoes biting through your clothing, but DO NOT use this stuff as a mosquito repellent and head out into the woods in Southeast Texas without some OFF or a thermacell!! I tried that on a teal hunt several years ago, and sure am glad I had a can of Off in my hunting bag... It might have killed a few skeeters that landed on my clothes and tried biting me thru them, but it didn't do a thing for those trying to get at my bare skin... like around my face and hands... This is NOT a repellent. It is and insecticide. ...and a darn good one for it's proper application I might add.

Good to know. If I sprayed patios and surrounding brick with it, do you think it would keep the mosquitos away? Have you ever run it through a water hose sprayer?

I bought it through Amazon.com. Here.
I've never used it for mosquito's but come to think of it we haven't had any mosquito's in the last 2 years and that's how long I've been using it. I mix mine in a pump sprayer and I sprayer and I spray everything I can reach walls, bushes, trees, etc. I usually retreat every month or so during the summer.

We had a major chigger problem last year and this stuff is the ticket as I've been using it for years now. Normally we only have chiggers in the spring and early summer but last year they were in full force from early spring all the way through December. Haven't been a problem yet this year but it's only a matter of time I'm sure.

Good stuff. I use it to control bugs, gnats and mosquitos. I spray all of my outdoors seating areas. Once and it's done.

I agree 100%. Thanks for pointing that out. I also use a DEET based spray on bare skin and also on my hat and boots.

So you've already been using the concentrated stuff it on your outdoors clothing? Any issues with doing that?

I read on another forum that dunking might not be the best way to go. Too hard to wring out the clothes and hang them to dry without coming into skin contact with the wet permethrin. So I'm thinking about either using a pump up sprayer or just refilling my Sawyer spray bottle as needed.

Sawyer also has a lotion you can buy that is for your skin. Use the spray and lotion together and you will never have bug problems while hunting.

Ive used Sawyers permethrin to treat my hunting clothes for about 18 years or so. I used to do a week long public land hunt where I walk in and hunt all day. I would take naps laying in the dirt/grass and have never had a problem with bugs as long as my clothing was treated. This includes chiggars. Like the OP said you have to treat your clothing and let the stuff dry before you put it on. Do not spray this on your person or clothing while you have it on.

                        Snakelover,
I have been putting 19 oz of water for 1 oz of permethrin into a spray bottle I bought at Home Depot for $6. I spray it on my clothes and let them air dry.

I originally was just buying the spray cans from Wally mart and spraying my clothes but this is a lot cheaper.

What is the right ratio to get .05% for treating clothing. I have the tsc .10% and it has all the instructions for patio, animal, yard, spot spraying.... but not clothing. Kids will be wearing this so I dont want to make a mistake. How are yall mixing it?

Permethrin is also used to re-soak used thermocell pads, which can then be re-used in your thermocell instead of purchasing the high dollar new pads. There ar some youtube videos of how to mix it and re-treat the pads. Another money saver.

I just ran the numbers on a 1-1/4 gallon bottle of 36.9% that I found online and it comes out to less than a penny per ounce of 0.5% solution!
That is the one I buy. My numbers were off a little.
