Hey guys an galS just a good reminder to wear you helmets. We picked a guy up off the road yesterday who wrecked a HD Vrod in a single vehicle accident. From the last thing I heard he was still alive but when we put him in the ambulance half of his skull was broke an I got a pretty good look at his brain. As soon as I got home I called my older brother who rides without a helmet an yelled at him. I have ridden since I was a child an still do on occasion, but I will admit im not not near as cool as most since when I get on a bike I strap one on. YALL BE CAREFUL!

I always wear mine when street riding! I too have seen first hand a guy bust his head open from NOT wearing a helmet. I'm pretty sure he didn't make it...

I don't have an issue with someone not wearing a helmet as long as the state does not have to care for their medical expenses, long term care expenses, burial expenses, etc.!

I always wear mine. There's no excuse for not wearing one. Nowadays they make them in all shapes and sizes.

In 30 years of riding, I've wrecked five times bad enough to count. The first one was without a helmet but I was lucky that day. Now I always wear one, even for short test rides around the block and on 105 degree summer days.

One of the guys who helped me learn to ride, wrecked without a helmet about ten years ago. He was not lucky enough to die. His brain injury has reduced his mental and emotional abilities to that of a five year old child, tantrums and all. His grandma lost her caregiver and the taxpayers have been paying the bills to this day. He is still 220 lbs, strong as an ox, so he will probably live for another 20 years.

I was not a fan of being required to wear a seat belt when the law was put into place.

Did not like the gubmint telling me what to do.

If they repealed the seat belt law today I would still wear one.


I do not think comparing a seat belt to a helmet is a fair comparison but believe they should be required.....period.

Ive had the weekend to think about this an its a bad deal. I Truly HATE having to see these things but its the nature of my job. I just want my friends an family to outlive me. Yall be safe an be careful!

Sure wish I could find a half helmet that fit me proper without the mushroom head.
