I have been testing for a while and have found a guaranteed way to make sure I get much needed rain at the ranch--simply arrive at the ranch late, set the corral hog trap, leave hundreds of dollars of feed exposed to the skies and plug in electric gator by front porch of cabin rather than in the barn. Yup, works everytime. This usually just results in enough rain to get a bunch of sloppy hogs and an early morning trip to move the truck and grab the gator charger. This increases the posted likelihood of rain from 10% to 99.44%.
Feel free to modify plan to your particular situation; however, something similar will be fruitful. I have found leaving a mesquite stocked Kleinguenther in a gun rack overnight works wonders as well. Be creative. Simply leaving windows down in the truck is so 1997. Get with the times and be malleable and amenable to change.
Just hoping I made enough racket last night that the pigs did not make it to the trap. KAP, including the muddy ones, but even though our little thunderstorm was only ten minutes or so, there may be some serious mud rasslin' going on in a bit. Here's to a night of hopefully unsuccessful trapping. Wishing for an empty trap.
