    What phone?

I'm about ready to get a new phone, and was wondering what everyone here likes. Not s big fan of my iPhone so was looking at a galaxy s6 or htc one m9. Anyone have the earlier versions of these? I've read everything online, and now just am looking for real world input so to speak. Thanks sll

    I have the galaxy s5.

    pros -

great battery life( I can skip a nights charge and be fine till end of next work day)
    very stable
    very responsive

    cons -

    too big
    expensive
have to replace the stock home page interface because its buggy and annoying

If they had swype keyboard on windows phone, thats the way I'd go, if I had it to do over again.

Steer clear of a Blackberry Z10.

One of the big reasons I didn't discount the s6 was that the touch wiz is supposed to be leaps and bounds better on the 6 compared to the 5. My big complaint with Apple being how hard they seem to try to make older phones obsolete. I will have my phone for 2 years minimum, so I want it to be able to get updates for 2 years, and iPhones struggle to do that it seems

            galaxy note 4!!!
            pros: fast charging
hit the power button 3 times fast and it sends an SOS to your emergency contact with gps location, pictures and a 10sec recording.
            cons: none

I don't really want a phone that big, but that bodes well for the s6 since they are fairly similar phones, including fast and wireless charging . I think the os is practically the exact same.

                What phone?

I've seen benchmark tests with both the android phones you are considering and the iPhone still benches faster and has better color resolution.

Samsung likes to tout all this hyper gig processor voodoo but it really turns out to be a lot of smoke and mirrors.

And the S6 is almost an absolute clone of the iPhone 6. All aluminum with a glass back and now no SD slot.

And I'm not sure what you are talking about obsoleting iPhones. I'm still running a 3 year old iPhone 5 and it runs just fine.

My iPhone 5 is two years old with glitchy software and a horrible battery. People with 2 year old androids don't seem to have near the problem. The benchmarks are very similar, with Galaxy winning some and iphone winning some. The user speed shows no noticeable difference truthfully... The androud platform I at seems much more modular so to speak

The android platform is open source so susceptible to viruses and malware too. They are also LOADED with unnecessary bloat ware.

I've owned 3 generations of iPhone and been happy. I don't jump on the latest/greatest iOS updates. I follow blogs and such for a while until they are vetted out before upgrading.

I'm still running iOS 7 on my iPhone.

I have a S5 active, like the phone and has a great camera. But I would rather have the IPhone, Apple software seems to work better. You can do more with android but I would have something that just work like it supposed to

As far as bloat ware, iphone has it to. The only difference being there is no "stock" ios so it's not as noticeable. The touchwiz is supposed to be waaayyyy better then former generations of galaxy phones, and the htc is said to have the best non stock android interface

I had an HTC once. I like the way they look and how they operate. However it had a bunch of glitches. Switched to the iPhone 4. It was okay. It's a smart phone for dummies/old people. I've had the galaxy s3 and s5. Getting tired of the galaxy now. I'll either go back to an iPhone or something I've never had before

Anyone used an Lg? Some folks online seem to think the G3 was the best android of 14
