Need help with Bachelor Party...

So im looking into taking a trip to the coast to do a deep sea fishing trip. Ive never done anything like that and I figured that would be fun for a bachelor trip. Im planning on taking 5 guys and we'd be leaving from DFW area. Ive got several questions im hoping yall can help me out with.

First, about how much would this trip cost total either per person or as a whole if anyone can shoot me a number. We'd plan to head down on a friday, stay in a hotel friday and saturday night and come back sunday. We'd do our fishing on saturday and the cost would determine how long we could fish.

Second, anyone know of a good charter to use?

Third, What should we fish for if we've never done anything like this?

And lastly, anything Ive missed or other suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!

What are you wanting to fish for? People have different ideas of DSF, for instance I prefer trolling, are you wanting to do that, bottom fish, drift....?

We did this for my buddy's bachelor party. We rented the dolphin in port a. 8 hour deep sea fishing trip. There were 9 of us and it was like $160/person.

Well I was just lookin at doing a charter for some shark fishing. I think that would be fun. Looks like it's an 8 hr trip. All of us are 25-30 yrs old. I'd like to do a rent house but idk how to go about finding one down there. Any input on "fun" active first big water fishing species?

Look through starkey properties or any other rental management company for houses. My buddy has a really nice 3-2 house down there he rents out. Charter for 6 people on cheap end for private boat will probably run 1200-1500 and goes up from there for 8 hr trip. I would recommend yall leave Thursday bc it's a long drive for 2 nights.

When are you going? I think port a would be decent for shark fishing. If your looking for more of a sport fishing experience my opinion would be to go further south. I fish out of south padre island and (depending on time of year) can be on wahoo, tuna, dorado, and billfish 45 minutes to an hour out of the jetties. Check out dock holliday sport fishing out of spi.

Don't overlook flying via SWA....it's cheap and WORTH EVERY PENNY on Sunday morning of a bach party. I will defer to the experts on the offshore stuff.

Thanks for all the help. We're looking at Galveston and Port A for some spots and charters. I think a hotel would be the cheapest route.

New Orleans soak your oats and then south to Cypress Cove Marina and chase to tuna offshore or redfish inshore

Look at Matagorda and www.matagordasportfishing.com. Shark fishing is ok but it's not what you're looking for.

Stay at cypress cove marina and fish out of venice. Best fishing in the gulf imho

Also you pass through new orleans for other bachelor party activities.

We went for my buddies BP and out of six guys me and one other didn't get six. The other four was sick for 6 out of the 8 he trip. Heck me and the other had a blast.
