    Ear tagged feral hogs

Any ideas why these hogs have ear tags (one in front of pic and the two under feeder)? I'm in southern Brown County.

              +1^^^

Hogs will turn wild in just a short period of time after escaping from a farm. I'd shoot those first. I bet they taste even better than the other ones.

I shot a tagged sow in Montgomery county a few years back that looked plenty feral to me.
Tasted good is all I know

I would have to agree with Tim, Those two under the feeder are farm pigs

Those hogs are probably cut- The rancher next to me cuts boar hogs he fids in a trap and tags their ears.

                        I'm with Tuff and Glen.
The ranch I used to be on would catch hogs, cut them, tag them and let them go. Then you know they are a cut hog. They will grow faster and bigger and after a certain amount of time their meat will taste better. They used to tell us to wait several months before we shot them if they were still on the small side.

My buddy cuts and tags the boars he catches and for the sows....well, their fate is sealed when they enter the trap.

I read where the state is making ranches that bring hogs in ear tag them and test them before they are released onto the ranch. Bet they got loose from a nearby game ranch.

Isn't it the new law that all transported feral boar hogs that are released on a hunting ranch have to be tagged so they know when they escape. My guess is the same as Thor's, they escaped from prison.

I guess I was to slow, Country beat me to it
