There are still good and kind folks in this crazy world

So last Saturday I went and picked up my new 7 week old redbone hound. I got back late Saturday so Sunday morning I head to Tractor Supply to pick up a big bag of Eukanuba puppy food, a 7 in 1 vaccine, some worming meds, chew toys, new collar, etc......
I walk into the store and I believe that more than half of Baytown is in there shopping and they have one cashier working. I thought to myself " it's gonna take a long time doin this" but the pup needed her stuff and I'm already there so..... Suck it up and quit whining, right?
Anyway, I've gathered all my stuff and am waiting for an associate to unlock the vaccine cooler which they do. I head to the counter to get in line but get caught behind to elderly black gentlemen. I turn to get in the back of the line and they head on up oblivious to the line and they just stand there and watch person after person walk past them and and nobody even acknowledges them. I get up to where they are standing and by this time have at least 10 folks behind me. I stop and look at them and say "you do know the line goes way back there, don't you?" They look at me and I kind of give them a smile and say " I know Yall were here before me, so go ahead and jump in line right here ahead of me"
Yes, I heard all the griping and complaining behind me but really didn't give a tinkers **** what those folks thought.
We ease up in line and these two men get their stuff rung up and the lady gave them thier total, the old man said " Miss, you forgot a few things, I'm payin for whatever this young man is buyin"
That's right, he paid for my entire $118 dollar purchase and all he said was thank you and do something nice for somebody one day"

    Yes Sir!!!! I certainly will

Well placed story! Do unto others.......
Not taking away, but just an observation. The racial background of those two men is actually irrelevant to such a feel good story. There are waaaaaay more good folks out here than bad, some folks just refuse to look past their nose! Thanks for posting something positive on TBH and congrats on the new pup!!!

The racial background of the person he let get in front of him in line is descriptive. By describing the two people. If he would have said they were 2 ol white men no-one would have batted an eye. Its quite frustrating when you an OP cant use descriptive words in a post with out people pointing out they are not necessary. Actually they are needed. It helps describe what is going on around you, it helps you visualize the story in your head, like you were standing there with Thwackdaddy.

I know thwackdaddy from years back and I know he did not mean to nor was he derogatory in this post. And landrover I have nothing against you nor am i calling you out. Just merely stating an observation that I have seen on TBH over the recent months.

To much to respond to. I live it thus I make the point simple, " I consider people as people."Great story and not even close to assuming anything about the OP........just fits 1950's timeframe. Would it be relevant in a corporate setting? Just a very friendly "heads up"...........nothing more, nothing less.

Wow........ Never intended it to turn this direction.

Thank you Stephen for defending what I said.

I can'r believe this has turned into a thread of "race". Bottom line he looked out for "people", kudos man, that's all I got

Without the adjectives the story loses a lot and leaves folks wondering WHY two old men were standing there waiting for other folks to pass.. because of the adjective the reason becomes plain..

Maybe you should have let a fat, bearded, old man go in front of you... no one would object to that ... especially the fat, bearded, old man...
