    Pool resurfacing help

I'm in Flower Mound and we need to have our pool resurfaced and some of the flagstone rock around the coping repaired. The pool is going on 15 years old. There is also a water fall feature I'm suspecting is leaking water that needs to be pressure tested and repaired if needed. We've selected DiamondBrite as the resurface material. Our pool is quite small (called a volleyball pool where deepest is 5 ft.) With just the above work does anyone on here know of what a good quote would be? I've received them from $4500 to $12500. Any help and advice wold be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I've wondered myself, cause mine needs the same.

Would it be cheaper to fill with dirt?

There is so much to say about your minor face lift. been in the remodel part for 16 years and the new side for 6. I would stay clear of diamond brite. I am a fan of pebble sheen finishes. on the stone you need to study why the flag stone needs repair. is there a crack directly under the stone between stone and tile? if so was the expansion joint installed correctly? does the guy doing the repair know how to actually repair properly? how to keep it from happening again? also was the stone maybe not properly cleaned before original install? did they wire brush it well and sponge it off correctly? Did they use crappy flakey stone that didnt bond properly? The waterfall could be cheap or be very expensive. could the plumbing be broke? maybe there is just voids allowing water to seep out and dissipate into the gunite/shotcrete? some demolition may have to happen to trouble shoot the waterfall to gain access to plumbing to pressure test it or even get a better idea of repair cost. Beware a remodel quote is just that a quote. the plaster is straight forward quote since you built the pool and know its never been replastered (voids hollow spots due to poor prep work by installer) this shouldnt be an issue for you. though the stone could run into a little more an issue than expected if the original expansion material (the foam joint they should have installed below the mastic) this foam should keep the concrete decking from touching the stone or even the mortar under stone from touching the concrete decking. that waterfall could be a bigger repair than expected. most of this is however should be explained up front by a reputable repair person who know what their doing. lets just say I can sell myself out of a deal or seal the deal. I would expect you to be around the 9 to 10 range if waterfall is an easy fix.

We had Gohlke pools in Denton Refinish ours last year. We went with the ecofinish which is applied with a flame thrower Love the finish as it's not as rough on your skin as the pebble tech. They also did some great work on the flagstone coping and tile. We had all our pumps and filters replaced as well. Great local company with very good staff.

Before we sold our home I had mine pressure tested and remodeled. The company that I used was out of Irving, I think. Summertime Pool.
They did a excellent job at a more than fair price. I had the entire pool pressure tested and a leak was found and repaired, totally resurfaced plaster with pebble tech, new filters, new salt system, new tile and coping. Everything was a total of $11,000.

We do most of Gohlke's work, did not do the ecofinish but fairly sure we did the masonry, great company.
