I'm not bashing, but when a fella starts out a thread "This is what a mount should look like..." as if he is the ultimate authority and the buck stops here (no pun intended),he is just rolling out the red carpet for critiques.....good and bad...
Might as well put a neon sign in the title and roll out a red carpet for them..
That being said, it looks good to me..

Good looking deer, congrats.
Back in the early 50's my father in law found a really nice buck dead out on the ranch he worked on. He was one of the foreman on the Chupidera(sp), its now a Naval bombing range, Escondido. Anyway he took the deer and caped it out and started stuffing it for a deer mount. Used shreetrock mud and wet news paper with marbles painted black for the eyes. Ranch hands laughed and said it would never look like a real deer and $50 bets were made that it would look like a real deer when he got finished.
He finished it and Mr. Lee(fil), the GW, and the ranch owner (Jim West), placed it out in the brush by the main ranch gate on Sat dance night. Most of the ranch hands voted, several even voted until the ran out of ammo, that in fact the deer mount looked just like a real deer. FIL and GW made out like bandits, Jim West was there to dock their pay. I saw pictures of the mount and it did look a little lumpy with bullet holes.
