TPWD Hunt Drawing Deadline Today

Man, I forgot to send in my applications for the hunts that were due TODAY. A client came in this morning, and as we were talking he asked me about the drawings. It hit me then that today was the deadline. I called TPWD in Austin (knowing the answer, but hoping....) and asked if there was a way to submit the apps online. The guy said there wasn't, but that they hope to have that capability by next year. Let's hope!

Anyway, I ended up calling one of my clients in Austin. She graciously agreed to help. I faxed my application forms to her. She drove them to TPWD and wrote them a check for my entry fees. What a sweet lady! I sent her a check for the fees and some extra for her trouble.

I even got a call from her later confirming that she got everything delivered. Man, that was CLOSE! I've been putting in for 20 years. I would have hated to miss some of the drawings.

Hope the rest of y'all got entered without as much hoopla as I had.

Glad it worked out for you. I saw my blunder this morning and tossed mine in the trash. I still have a few I can sign up for.

Any idea when they actually do the draws for the gun hunts?

Justaguy, they will draw pretty quick. Maybe tomorrow? It usually doesn't take them long. Some of the rifle hunts' deadlines haven't got here yet, so those drawings won't happen until the deadlines pass.

I almost forgot mine as well, was able to get them in the mail on the way out of town for the dove hunt. I did mess up and was late on the pronghorn and archery hunts.

I forgot all about the drawings. Oh well I guess I am stuck with Aransas and Sommerville again LOL

I always send them all in before the archery deadline that way i don't forget
Also don't forget about standby, I have been on many hunts by going standby. And i got drawn for walter buck archery, and am counting the days!!

Congrats on the WB draw, samsdad. I put in for that one too. It's a cool place to hunt. I hope you'll post some pics of your hunt - and LDPs!

I always send mine in very early too, but for some reason this year I let it slip. I did send in the archery and pronghorn apps early, and then I dropped the ball. Won't let that happen again!

I don't know for sure. Maybe 15 yrs. Seems we get a draw every other year on something. My brother takes care of all the gun hunts. Claims he has a system. I guess he does. He also doesn't apply at the same place every year. When he applies, he'll bring out the books from the 2 last years and go thru them with this years book, figures up the odds and sends them in.
