Guadalupe is up and it's kayaking season

I would like to take my husband in September for his birthday but I need to rent everything. I saw someone posted Jerry's rentals, any place else to consider?
Where is the best place to go then, do you think? Fredericksburg, New Braunfels?

Pistol - I personally would say New Braunfels on the Guadalupe because there is no can ban, different water speeds, a place to paddle up and stop for lunch, and great live music at night. There are several good outfitters out there, but some of the smaller ones, like Jerry's or Ponderosa, have folks who know the river, versus just seasonal workers.

We were in New Braunfels, down River Road. The Comal has a can ban, but the Guadalupe does not and is not as flooded with tubers right now.

Well - actually the can ban has been lifted on the Comal - so no can ban on the Comal or Guadalupe ---- but the Guad does have much better rapids, especially from 1st crossing to Gruene.

I stand corrected. I forgot about that vote. It's just always ridiculously packed on the Comal. Thanks for the correction.
