I just fabbed up my 8' push bar/anchor pole. Ran all of $6

Hope some of you more experienced people can help me a little. I found a Pungo 140 Wilderness system pretty cheap and bought it. I realize the design is more for long distance flat water, but at the price I could not pass. So, depending on work schedule I will take a maiden voyage either tomorrow or Saturday to try a little fishing. For now I have not started with add-ons since this will be my first attempt at Kayak fishing. I normally fish out of a 12' flat bottom. It's a narrow design and I just paddle it around, thought this might be a more user friendly situation. Anything I need to know good, bad, or indifferent about this particular model?

                It's a 8' garden stake.

Top end looks like 1" pvc T
With 2 plugs and a short 6-8" section to shove the stake in.

I'm curious how the "T" is attached to the stake.

It slid on tight and I pvc glued it in place.

Thank you brother. 3/4" pvc fit like a glove!

Whats the diameter on that stake? If the pvc glue ever lets go, some 5 min epoxy shoyld hold it permanently.

I would love to see how others have rigged out their kayaks, all the DIY equipment, and anything else that you guys deem a necessity. I think I'm going to have to get me a stakeout pole like the one above.

Hit Brushy Creek Lake Park last night on the kayak with fellow TBHer scopedope.

Despite wasting about an hour unsuccessfully throwing a frog, I did manage to get 8 in the end on texas rigged worms and 2 on the fly rod. Nothing of any size, but pretty solid action as the sun dipped.

There were lots of boats on the water for a Thursday, even a couple in a canoe with a nice stringer of crappie.

Awesome, I've been out there several times over the last month but always with the wife and kid and we just paddle around. Haven't been out alone so I can fish in a while.
