    A bittersweet farewell to Texas

I have always want to be a Texan. I was born and raised in Arkansas, and have lived there most of my 49 years. Arkansas is a nice place, well except for tornadoes, otherwise I had no real complaints.

A little over a year ago I got a job offer here. I jumped at the chance, threw caution to the wind, and as soon as I paid about $200 for getting my vehicle titled, inspected and such, I considered myself a Texan. Unfortunately, the job wasn't what I had hoped it would be and after about 6 months I quit. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a good paying job in Nacogdoches...

A month before moving here I joined TBH. I have enjoyed being a part of the forum, and it is a much nicer experience than any of the other forums I visit. I attribute that to the caliber of most of the folks here. Y'all have a great thing going. Thanks go out to the nice people people I've dealt with here.

I did get to harvest a couple of Texas whitetails, a bobcat, and saw some hogs but never got to take one. That was a disappointment, but can't have it all I guess.

I have some truly great friends here in Nacogdoches that I will dearly miss. I love living here. I love the feeling of being part of a state that is proud of it's heritage, and isn't afraid to take a stand on issues that are important to me.

But, my Son, Daughter in law, and my almost 3 year old grandson, who I haven't seen in what would be a year next month, are in Colorado Springs. I will be there soon, lord willing and if the creek don't rise.

I want to thank TBH and Texas for welcoming me. You are some fine folks in my eyes, and who knows... maybe I can get the family out here with me someday. Texas, I'll miss you.

Lol! I am in a motel room in Little Rock right now. Had to bring a buddy here who was visiting me in Nac and helping me with a job I had.

I'll be here a few days. Have to do a little work on my camper before I make the long haul... Did I mention I'll be loving in a camper for an undetermined time frame?

I sure do appreciate all of the well wishes. More proof in fact of the nice folks on TBH!

Stay tuned in to the green screen
