Going on a hunt and need to mail my bow

What is the best way to mail it? Post Office, UPS, DHL or Fed EX? Is it best to mail it from a business or just drop it off? I need help on this since I have never done it before. I will insure it. But I need to know if there is a way that is quicker and more secure than another. Thanks
The size is 40L x 20W x 8D and weighs 47#. Going from Springtown/ Ft Worth to Howe, ID.

My go through the post office. For just a little more they will get it there in plenty of time.

Okay well I'll ask the obvious (or maybe not so obvious) question. Why not take it on the plane/in the car with you?

Mine was treated as another piece of luggage when I flew to Missouri.

The 1st part of the trip is a company event and they really don't want it present. Or actually, I'd rather them not know I'm tacking on 5 extra days to go shoot an antelope and possibly an elk.
Also, taking it on the plane, I have been charged all over the board. Mostly around $50 along with the TSA hassel (which I understand). If I can ship it for $70 it's worth the other $20.

I check mine in the case as a piece of allowable luggage (no charge)?
