Has anyone gone to see Joe Ely? Headed to gruene for our annual trip for Jerry Jeff this weekend and going to see Joe Ely on Saturday night, was wondering if he puts on a good show. Thanks Adam

Last time I saw him was in the early 80's! I didn't know he was still performing. "Have you ever seen Dallas from a DC-9 at night? Dallas is a jewel, Dallas is a beautiful sight"" He has some great songs.

Gruene is amazing regardless of who is playing. Ely is icing on the cake.

I saw him when he lived in Lubbock when I was about 21 at the Cotton Club. He was great and could bring the house down. I know he lives in Austin now and I haven't seen him in a long time but I bet he is still great!

Saw him a few weeks ago up here. Just him and an accordion player; great show.

Seen him three or four times. Once in Gruene. Always puts on a great show whether it's with a full band or just him and a guitar. Wish I could go!

Love Joe Ely, but have never seen him. Somewhat little known fact; he sang on The Clash's hit "Should I Stay or Should I Go."

I knew that guy 20-25 years ago. He was always very quiet and soft spoken. I remember when he broke his hip. I've always wonder how that turned out.
