    A/C Question

Plenty of air flow, but it's not blowing cold and cooling the house off. Went outside to the unit and there is ice build up on the copper tubing coming out of the unit. Does the unit need a recharge?

Maybe low air flow? Change filter?

Mine did that last year at this time and serviceman checked it and it needed recharged.

Recharge would be my guess. Good luck.

My guess would be the system is low on refrigerant. Systems do not require additional refrigerant unless there is a leak, a tech let too much out on a service call or the system was undercharged at time of install.

Leaking system more than likely. Indoor coil is usually 95% the problem Could be bad air flow.
Details on system. Age brand etc. I can tell you what's wrong.

            Get a tech ASAP.

How dirty is it? Change the filter and wash the outside unit out the best you can. Call a serviceman.

As said above either low/restricted air flow (dirty filter/Evap coil) or low on refrigerant (leaking system or restrictions in refridgerant cycle). Turn system off and fan on till you can get a tech out for repairs.

Have a tech lined up to show up tomorrow, sounds like all of the info above is pretty spot on. The unit is less than a year old, so kind of surprised with the issue.

Unfortunely, I replaced quite a few indoor coils that were close to a year old. Give or take a few months.
