    Where to eat in Abilene?

In town for a couple days for work, where are some good places to eat around here?

Abi-Haus and Beehive are my two favorite. The bucket burger at Heffs should be illegal

Joe allens BBQ and catfish corner are go to places for me. Perenni's steak house on buffalo gap is good.

Can't say anything about the others mentioned but I'll second Perenni's! If I'm ever up that way again I will defenitly be stopping by there.

We like to go to Lytle Land & Cattle when we are in town.

All mentioned so far are good. Except I don't really like Abi-Haus. If you want a cheap hole in the wall Mexican burrito, go to La Popular (3 or 4 locations). Get the carne guisada with cheese burritos, and get a large lemonade to go with it. That's some excellent eating. Don't expect fancy atmosphere though.

Sounds like it might need a pepto chaser....

Lytle Land and Cattle and Perrinis are both hard to beat for steaks. Joe Allens rib eyes are pretty good as well.

Not really. Just don't get the plate that comes with beans. Just get the burrito. Best carne guisada I've ever had anywhere.

Not cheap. But worth every penny. Figure on $30 or so for the steak, plus whatever else you order. Call ahead for a reservation.

Get the bread pudding for dessert, and ask them to put some bacon bits on top.

Eat your next meal at La Popular, and it'll even out the $$ you spent at Perini's.
