    Jeep towing/payload question

Been thinking about getting a 4-door jeep but am hesitant as i'm not sure how well it will pull my 10ft trailer with my RZR on it. I've done a lot of reading online and the opinions are all over the place. I know that the official published payload capacity is, but I figured i'd ask a trusted group here and see what the feedback is.

I've heard it is not the pulling you have to be concerned about, its the stopping... shortened wheel base makes jack knifing potential higher. I also know that the gear ratio you get with the towing package is important.

    Any GS'ers pulling a trailer with a 4-door jeep??

Yes... I get the "if you have a jeep why do you need a RZR on a trailer" question lol... because a jeep wont fit through the 52" trail barriers that the NFS is putting up on all the trails here in Colorado!

I used to tow a 3500lb hybrid camper with mine. lifted, 35's and 3.73's. it was slow, took it to the hill country and i was topping out at 35mph on some of the hills. even taking it on flat land, i had to downshift on every freeway overpass, just to try and keep it around 60mph. now towing the camper was like towing an 11' tall brick... with another brick.

not sure of your weight but i think the wind resistance was the biggest issue. doubt you will fare to well in the real mountains.

You will HAVE to re-gear if you go taller than stock tires. Pulling 2500 lbs should be no issue at all. If stopping was ever an issue, you could always get a trailer with brakes.

Get a Rubi, you'll be fine with 410s
