    KT Tape

Anyone use KT Tape or any of the other brands of kinesio tape?
I have used the KT tape for a sprained ankle and am still having some issues where I feel like it could use some additional support. I haven't really been able to find a good tape application that feels like it supports where I need it and am considering trying one of the other brands that is not pre-cut.
    Any input would be great.

I had the same experience - didn't feel like it offered much support/relief, and had problems getting the tape to stick for any length of time, especially moving around. Maybe user error?

Girlfriend uses the KT tape on her ankle every so often and she likes it. One of her good friends uses it all the time on her shoulder when playing sports and likes it as well.

I saw it used in a PT clinic I was interning at this summer. They just started using KT and had good results with it. Although, I never saw them use it on an ankle. They used it on shoulders and elbows. They had no issues with the tape sticking, it would stay on for 2-3 days until the patient came back to the clinic (it'd stay on even after showers). I know there is a lot more to it than just sticking it on where you need it. The PT went to a workshop on it and there are different ways to cut it, and different amounts of tension to place on the tape depending on what your using it for.

The PT did 2 things that really helped the tape stick better. First, cut the tape so that the ends are rounded and not flat. Second, rub the tape quite a bit when putting it on. The friction heats it up and makes it stick better

If I'm doing something active, I'll brace up or tape it with straight athletic tape. I have a good supply if I need it being a coach. My ankles are horrible so I need some support

It's not that I can't get it to stick (hairspray helps), I am just not impressed with the application provided on the company website for ankle support and they don't offer one for a sprain. It seems that the other brands that you cut to length yourself have a wider range of options but I was hoping someone had used another brand and could tell me what they thought.

I use it on a shin splint I get when I start golfing a lot. Seems to help when nothing else does.

I don't like the precut KT tape, it doesn't offer the same support as kinesio tape ( name brand- the original tape) or rock tape. I've found the rock tape works better and is the one I use in the office now.

Thanks OUTDOORSMANEVERETT. I'll try the rock tape and see if that application helps!

I've checked the site. There's not a lot of options for ankle support and what they do have doesn't offer the support I'm looking for.
