Personally I've never had a serious issue with snakes. Most swim on by, others get dissuaded pretty quickly with a tap from a 7' worm rod!

I was fishing near a little creek yesterday and two swam on by minding their own business...

Used to tie a 2X6 under a tube and sneak on to a local golf course at night and rip lips on bass all night. Had to ditch it one night and run a 300 yard dash back to my buddy's truck when a security guard caught wind and tried to catch us. I heard he got fired a few days later cause some one stold a bunch of batteries out of golf carts while he was fishing.

used to do it all the time when I would fish large tanks and some small lakes. Caught a lot of bass from a tube.

I used to use one to fish rivers and caught a lot of fish that way. It finally rotted out and never bought another one, for some reason. easy, very portable, but obviously needs to be warmer weather.

Float tube fishing is my number one favorite way to fish.

I grew up fishing in a float tube in VA & NC. Chest waders and long underwear in the spring. Swimming trunks and tennis shoes once it got warm enough. Loved it!!! Have not done it in years.

I guess this is from 40yrs ago or so. My dad is the guy on the upper right:
