    help installing 5 wire theromostat

    looking for some help installing this fancy wifi thermostat that my wife got.....
    the old one is a 4 wire set up and the new one needs a 5th wire (24volt common) the wire is already there but after googling and youtubing I cant figure out where to hook up the 5th wire to my air handler

    So anybody in the Montgomery area help me out Ive got axis meat and beer!!

    Typically it will be a blue or black or brown wire in the air handler depending on brand. Usually labeled "c". Find the transformer and look for the secondary side that is attached to the cabinet. Or jumpered between all the relays in the heat kit.

      Red= R (24v)
      white= W (heat)
      Yellow=Y(condenser)
      green=G(fan)
      blue= C, or B/C (common, some times B/C on board) my not be a blue wire may be black or some other color but as long as it goes from common on board to therm. Its good to go.
      See if that is how its wired at the air handler. Then do the same at the thermastat.
