    Getting a title?

Is there anyway to get a title if you don't know the original owner? An it doesn't have from current buyer?

What are you trying to get a title for?

If you are talking about a trailer, you need a certificate of origin, which will lead to a title. If no COO, go to your local tax office and they will walk you through it.I just had to do this on a trailer for which I had no title and no COO. I suspect a motor vehicle is more complicated.

I run far and fast from any title issues. As a general rule.

Is having a title on a quad that big of a deal? I've heard of some dealerships checking rigs in for repair to see if they're stolen, but dont ask for a title.

Ahhh. Figured the crossing border post was a well placed green card shot.

Might be easiest to get a title lawyer to handle it. We used to get the owner of a wrecker service to do it for us, which wasnt the right way but cheaper. Think it's still a process of sending 2 certified letters to the last known title holder within certain time frames then filling certain paperwork. Lawyer is probably the best bet.

I've heard it shouldnt be bad. Since it's a standardized type thing for title lawyers it's probably a set charge of a few hundred, similar to setting up a trust. Would definitely be easier than trying to do it yourself though. A lot less headache

You can get a bonded title. Just takes some paperwork and $250, but fairly easy process.

Google is your friend. Is there away to look up serial numbers? If so, see if you can get an address and then try to get in touch with the original owner. Had to do that with an outboard
Motor recently. If that doesn't turn up anything, bonded title is the way to go.
