I have a 2006 chevy 2500HD. Do i have to take it to the chevy house to unlock my factory cd player? I have been told I do have to and I do not have to. Just wanted to know if anyone on here has done it. Thanks.

My 05 2500HD had a CD stick in the player. I had to get a new unit put in to get my CD back. Luckily for me the dealer GM did it for free.Comment

If its a factory radio, but not the one that came in your truck, then yes, you will have to have a dealer reprogram it as they are VIN locked to the specific vehicle they came out of.
If its the one that came in your truck originally, Im not sure what you are trying to ask.Comment
