I was wondering the same thing. I just dont see how people go through life, asking for handouts, and have no qualms about it.

The one I see the most is "I dont have health insurance, so can you please help pay for medical bills." I dont understsnd that one. Not saying it is wrong, I just dont understand it. Everyone should have health insurance, one way or the other. If you choose not to buy it, then I don't think it is right to ask others to help pay for your medical bills, when an issue comes up. That was a choice not to buy insurance.

Investing in a business venture is one thing, I never heard of fundme accounts for personal reasons like vacations and such. I certainly would not give to an account for someones vacation or new truck but if someone out there is more generous than me, please call. I will put it to good use.

Just a little advice. If it makes you mad get online and read up on some gofundme stories. Some are really awesome. Some not so much.

An old friend of mine died a few years ago in a house fire along with her 5 year old son. She was a hard working mother with a ton of student debt. Her 7 year old son lived. What family she had was flat broke. So some friends set up a gofundme site so they could afford a nice funeral, casket, head stones, and some help for the 7 year old.

When I'm too self-absorbed to help someone who needs it I hope I have the courage to throw myself in front of the next train that happens by. As far as vacations, start ups, etc....depends on the situation. I helped a couple of buddies start a company two years ago and had a 150% ROI in two years time....please take advantage of me some more.....
