You're suggesting that a made-in-the-USA Yeti now is different (and worse) than a made-in-the-USA Yeti before they outsourced part of their production? I'm missing the logic, fill me in.
Anyone with a brain and a million dollar idea would "sell out," if by selling out you mean outsourcing a fraction of production while still being a Texas company and making coolers in the US of A.
If the Brute (ahem... Bison) folks had been first and Yeti had copied them, it would be the same conversation with the names switched.

I own 5 Yeti's. I am happy with them. Use them 3 times a year for a week in west Texas. No issues.

Own two Bison coolers. 150qt and 100qt. Will be buying one more 150qt before our next elk trip. So far they have held
Up well. Never owned a yeti, so don't have anything other than cheap igloos/coleman to compare them too. Bison are leaps and bounds above those.

The only down side was i emailed them the story and sent them the pictures, and never got a reply back. Their customer service from my stand point lacks in that area.
My vote goes to bison then.... Yeti's are arsons

I have a brute 25. I can honestly say that in the past 5 years I have had no issues with it. In the dead of summer I can put a 8 pound bag of ice in it. Fish all day come home and three days later walk over to my boat open the cooler and pull a ice cold beer out. Another cooler I am impressed with that I have just recently purchased was the Orion 65 made by Jackson kayaks . This thing is awsome. I bought it to put on my boat, it has rails for multiple accessories like rod holders cup holders etc. Foam pad lid to stand on and use as a casting Platform.

I just like the handles on the Brute better. The fact that it has more storage capacity and that you don't have to blow your back out to pick it up empty is a big plus for me!

He still uses this cooler to this day. Cant get the picture of the truck to load, but it was bad.

                        Wow, impressive!

Me and 2 other buddies have tested ours out on numerous 3 day stays on Matagorda Island in the spring/summer. I have a Igloo Yukon 70 qt, and a friend has a Yeti 65 qt and the other has a 50 qt Brute. The Igloo holds the ice the longest with the Yeti coming in last. There was a noticable difference in ice retention between the Yeti and Brute. The Brute is built like a tank with the plastic being hard to scrape or cut. Same with the Yeti. The Igloo's plastic seems to be softer for some reason. Also, the Yeti's lid has warped and has had to be replaced, but it seemed to make no difference in the ice retention. The Igloo also has some warpping on the inside of the cooler where one of the walls has warped in a little. Still holds ice great, but some people might not like the way it looks. With all this being said, my next cooler will be a Bison. I just don't think my Igloo will hold up as long and the ice retention in the Brute wasn't much worse than the Igloo.
