    Quiet Gas UTV?

Why cant the ATV/UTV manufacturers make quiet gas powered bikes. I have tried the battery powered bikes and they just don't work for what I do. I am in the car business and you can barely hear most of these new vehicles running. Seems like the technology should be there to make these things really quiet. I keep searching the internet for some sign of a manufacturer working on it, but nothing and the aftermarket mufflers suck in IMO.

Maybe because the cabs aren't closed in like road vehicles to keep out road noise?

Have you tried the Ranger EV?

They are loud. A gas powered golf cart is probably as quiet as you'll get. It won't be as strong as a UTV but much quieter.

Yes. Great machine for a 1 mile trip.

Ah. Strange. One lap around our lease is 7 miles. We can run it 2 or 3 times and still have plenty of charge left. Never tried to go longer since I usually always charge it while we are not using it. Maybe you got ahold of a bad one? Good luck on the search for a quiet gas machine. Please report back if you find one. I'd be interested in a quiet gas crew cab.

I get what you are saying on the noise.

What are we talking 50-70 hp machines that are louder than 250hp automobile engines.

Maybe the lack of exhaust length is a problem.

Maybe they are marketed to growl to impress the consumers ears.

They ought to sell a stealth model for hunters.

I think Bad Boy Buggy is on the right track with their gas / electric- switch on the fly model.
We just need bigger players to pick up on the idea.

Exactly what I have been thinking and looking for. I am a big believer in electric. Our current lease is very hard on electric carts because of the terrain. I have researched and driven several and a "quiet" gas utv is nonexistent.

I really like my Teryx for power and ride quality, but it is quite loud.

automotive engines are built to be quiet. It has nothing to do with exhaust length. One can make a liquid cooled engine quiet, it just takes a lot of work.

^^^This. My 900xp is very quiet. I'd definitely say its the quietest gas utv out there.

I really like the gas/electric concept. The price is a big pill to swallow though, hope they get some competition.

You don't have to be inside these new cars and trucks. They are really quiet when you stand by the mufflers and listen to them drive off and they have several times the Horsepower.

this is exactly what I think too.

hey dave, remember that lease where the landowners kid would be tearing up the roads about 30 minutes after daylight? that little **** needed a stealth model!
