    Ffl question

I've got a question for the ffl dealers. I'm thinking of getting my ffl license and would be operating from my house. Since no one would be home during the day, what are the guidelines for receiving firearms being shipped to me? Can they be left without anyone signing? Can someone other than me sign for them? Can I arrange for them to be delivered to a post office or Ups/ fed ex store for me to pick up. Thanks for the info, trying to figure out how to make this work.

First, make sure your city / county will allow a conditional use permit to work from your residence...this other nonsense is more frustrating than getting the actual FFL. I would recommend contacting the nearest ATF office & go over the process.

Since no one would be home during the day, what are the guidelines for receiving firearms being shipped to me? Can they be left without anyone signing? No, there is too much liability for any firearm to be left on the doorstep or with neighbors...demand 'Adult Signature Required'.

Can someone other than me sign for them? Yes.

Can I arrange for them to be delivered to a post office or Ups/ fed ex store for me to pick up. Neither from my understanding...remember that the address on the FFL is where the firearm must ship.

Thanks for the info, trying to figure out how to make this work.

Welcome & good luck...feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

What's the reason behind getting your ffl? I used to be a home based ffl and its a lot of trouble for very little money to be made. I tell anyone that wants to be a ffl the only way I'd ever do it again is if I had an actual brick and mortar store and lots of money to spend on inventory.

It's really not worth having your FFL and running business out of your house. I've started just mainly doing transfers.
