For those of you who had your display go out, do any of you have a protective cover over your TC? My dad made a few boxes for us to attach our I-40s to a T-post, and ours are working fine. I wonder if the display is going out because of how hot the black case is getting.

I also have them on mounts that provide a little shade like so.....

Iv'e got 2 I-40's and an I-60. After about 6 months of use, one of the I-40's stopped working, and I don't mean the display. The camera froze up. I sent it into Moultrie and it was replaced, no questions asked. The other I-40 and the replacement have worked fine w/o any other problems. The I-60 started acting up about the time of the other I-40. It was not taking very many pictures at all, when it usually would take a few hundred. I even changed the batteries with no luck. However, when I brought it home, I noticed a little moisture got into the battery housing and corroded one of the battery terminals. After a little clean up, the camera works great. However, I noticed a couple months ago, the digital display does have a few lines missing. This has not affected the operation of the camera, and it continues to take pictures. All of my cameras are under oak trees and not positioned in direct sun light. While, I have had a few problems, it appears this is just the nature of having trailcams. Seems like every brand out there has had multiple issues. I would say that for $180 on the I-40, if you get 2 years use, it would be a good deal. I know a couple guys who have cuddlebacks and have had issues as well. You can buy 2 I-40's for the price of one of those.

I hear ya, texag. I feel bad about ever recommending the I40. 'Course, at the time I wasn't having any problems. It's a bit ironic, and I can even see the "sick" humor in it, that all these problems are popping up a month before opening day, lol. I was less-than-impressed with their email response you posted.
