    Food Plot Question

I'm thinking of planting a food plot this year, both spring and fall. I hunt about 60 miles south of houston, and the soil on my place is kind of sandy. The location that i'm wanting to plant the plot at is not accessible by anything other than foot, so i can only use hand tools and a small tiller. the plot will also be small, about 1/3 acre at the most. I need something that will grow fast enough that it wont get overgrazed, also.... Any suggestions of seeds that may work, for spring/fall?

I can't tell you what to plant but I will suggest that you get a soil test done and fertilize appropriately. This will help with the quick growth you desire.

I lived in Brazoria County and planted Blackeye Peas that grew very well in the spring however deer will eat them up pretty quick when they find them. If you have a dense deer population Blackeyes won't last. If deer are sparse they will work great.
      Oats in the fall.
