All diesels are expensive when they break, but I would feel better about your chances with the 7.3

Congrats on the score. My "03" 7.3 has about 165,000 on it and I'm planning on giving her up anytime soon. Been absolutly trouble free.

I was looking at getting a 6.4 until I talked to a good mechanic friend at Ford and he said they have a lot of valve train and crank issues. He said it was my best bet to stay away from them. I'm not tryin to talk you out of a truck just relaying what he said.

my sgt had a 2003 with 57,000 I didn't know he was selling til he told me I said I woulda sold my 99 that had 150 and kept them both oh well I still have mine with 176,000
