How do I figure out wholesale...

    on a used car?

As I've posted before my car got totaled at the end of January. In the market for a newer USED car. Is there a way to find out what the wholesale value of a used car is? I've been told it's the "trade in" value but that doesn't make sense to me. Dealers don't always pay full trade in value when getting a used car.

Send me the make model year and anything else, and I'll send it to you.

Thanks for the response. I can get you make, model, trim and mileage. I figure that should be enough to get a close car value estimate.

              Retail value means nothing
              Trade-in value means nothing
Loan value is more or less what it's worth
Wholesale is what it should be worth

To get in the ballpark, take the lowest trade-in value and subtract about $2-3k. If you know someone at a dealership, preferably on the used car side, they can tell you the auction prices for similarly optioned vehicles over the past 6-12 months. That is typically what they offer at trade-in.

I think this is the information I'm looking for. My buddy worked in an area that was able to get me those numbers the last time I bought a car. It really helped me get a solid deal.

                      pm sent.

Just bought one of these you are looking at last week.

I can buy anything at auction and get it shipped on my best friend's account from anywhere.

I ended up buying a new one in Austin, thanks to some desperate pricing I just couldn't turn down.

So did you buy yours at auction or from the dealer who was motivated to sell?

                          roger beasley in austin.

end of the month, '16's are on the way.....blah blah, blah, I walked out on them three times, plus it was a cash deal, they finally caved in on price, and threw in the 100,000 mile warranty, otherwise I would have bought a Kia or a Hyundai.....

                            Nice!

They have a couple of used ones for sale that are on my radar. I just hate traveling to get a car but it's only 75miles from SA. I need to start working them.

Did you end up with a Sport, Touring or Grand Touring?
