    Question on hunting Freer tx?

Should I expect to see immigrants when I go? Or is that a further south type thing.

These days it seems they are moving all over. Andrew/Canoe1 can chime in here. Pretty sure he would be able to give you some info for that area. I Ran across some last spring. I had shot 2 turkey with my bow. One dropped the other ran off, I went in the brush to look for the other turkey and when I came back out there were 4 admiring my turkey that had dropped. I was unarmed except for a pocket knife. They were peaceful and liking for assistance, food/water/phone. They went on their way almost disappearing in the brush as if they knew the property like it was their home. This was 20 minutes north of freer near hwy 16/fm 624. I now carry a pistol (at all times)when I hunt that ranch.

I reckon most are peaceful encounters, but I need to prepare myself to react appropriately lol .

Yep, I think that can be said for anywhere from kingsville to del rio and everywhere in between. Heck maybe even further north. There was 4 of them and one of me, things could have got bad in a hurry.

It can be, or might not ever see anyone.
Depends on what area, the closer to town the less I'd expect to encounter.

We've had our place for 3 yrs now and have never seen anyone on the property...there are signs that they pass through. Lots of water jugs and clothes thrown in the brush at the same spot on the CR every year during the summer months. Got into our trailer and took some food and water last yr but didn't destroy anything luckily.

Depends on what direction from Freer your hunting and the ranch. Pipelines and big electric lines can get a lot of illegal traffic. West of the checkpoint seems to have more, East not so much.
                          Plenty of hogs and javi.
