Question for our Beagle expert, Froggy

My Beagle is starting to put on weight. What you reckon is the problem?

No expert here but my guess is he needs to eat less, **** more.

No beagle expert here but owner of one very fat older beagle. Ours is just a chow hound, always has been. She doesn't get exercised near enough and my well-meaning wife keeps feeding her too much. I've never seen a dog that is so obsessed with food as this dog.

Beagles as a breed are known to be chow hounds. Waiting for Froggy to chime in. He is probably not up from his nap yet.

Hopefully Leo did his job and Diamond is pregnant.

If she's not, just limit her food. One cup of food a day is all she needs. Run her every day if possible.

I make it to be 43 to 48 days. I am pretty sure now puppies are on the way. Not only is she filling out, the last couple of days her tits have started to sag.

I was fairly sure early on. She threw up on the ride home. Her personality changed slightly also the last 2 weeks of Jan.

Great. Diamond should have some outstanding pups with good hunt and conformation. Both parents are well mannered, smart hounds.

If any members are looking for a pup, you should reserve one now. Well bred beagles are in demand since Mrs P won the Westminister Dog Show.

My Archie boy is weighing in at 45lbs. He runs the yard a bunch. He's no slob but a very healthy looking hound.

That is a good sized dog. Diamond was running about 35 to 37 before she met Leo I guess I need to start weighing her.
