We don't have a Costco nearby, so we use Sam's. I've been in both and admit that Costco seems nicer than MOST Sam's, however Sam's is just like a lot of stores...the area they are in is usually reflected inside. The Sam's near our house is extremely clean, helpful employees, and I would say as nice or nicer than Costco.

We like it for cleaning supplies, kids lunch supplies (chips, snacks, etc...), electronics, meat department, some larger tools like generators, compressors, and such.

We don't buy beef, we substitute venison.
Most annoying is my wife continually falls in love with some giant ticket item at Costco we can't afford when we shop there.
Not sure why we keep it, really.
Thanks for all the replies so far..

The above is what I'm worried about. If bread, almonds, produce is roughly the same price(or even a little less) I will just get the wife buying more than what we need and it will go to waste...so it will end up actually costing us money.

I may go check it out one day this week.
