    Diesel def question.

Can u take it off and get better fuel mileage ? Void warranty ?

Should be a delete kit for some models but would probably require a programmer.

Requires a programmer and a delete kit. Roughly 1100 to 1300 depending on make. And will void all warranty emissions. Now if something happens to you trucks motor the possibility of the denying your claim goes up and then its a fight!

      Thanks,

This. And to answer your question, removing the dpf/def system will definitely yield better fuel economy. And most people tune more power out of their truck at the same time, so it's a win/win! (Minus the legality and warranty part).

Ftr, my brother in law fully deleted his 08 (dpf, but pre-def). He had an aftermarket extended warranty and was never denied a claim because of the work done.
I had the same exact work done to my identical truck, though I didn't have a warranty to worry about, every dealer gave me crap when it came time to trade in, which is why I haven't deleted my 2015.

What truck? If it is used on road i would leave all emissions intact. Really not that bad just an extra fluid to fill up. Much better than the old dpf design, with DEF the number of regens are far less than before, which is a good thing. If your using it as a ranch truck or just working like a tractor delete it, that'll run around $2000 for everything. All motor train warranty WILL be denied, any little problem they will try to blame on your tuning. After all they dont want to have to waste money on you and if they can find an out they will.

Edit: Well not exactly, you may be lucky and find a delete friendly dealer. But for example a dodge dealer may cover you under warranty, but if chrysler knows of your tuning then its pretty much a 100% chance they wont cover you...

Go to Bucee's. DEF is about $6 for two gallons. Best deal I've seen.

Heaters went out in my 2013 duramax. Dealer said 2300$ to swap the def tank because it's not serviceable so I bit the bullet and deleted for 1400$. Best 1400$ ever spent. Left the tank in place for appearance and replaced the exhaust along with a tune. Went from a 12mpg truck to a solid 18mpg. Numbers are higher when driving under 80mph I just do a lot of interstate driving.

If you don't have emissions testing, delete, delete, delete!

I would go into it with the expectation of no warranty should something happen. With that said, my dpf is gone and truck tuned.

Look up EFI live. If it's a Dodge, the just came out the a program for late model trucks. All emissions equipment stays intact. And will get better fuel mileage.
