    LDPs Safety!

I know its been mentioned numerous times but never enough! Guys/gals point the gun away from you in LDPs. It bothers me and im sure others seeing guns pointed directly at a person. Loaded or unloaded it doesnt matter! One wrong move and a great experience can be turned upside down! We get excited and our minds are in a wonderland enjoying the moment. Lets keep the moments positive and have a great time! Think safety first!!!!!!!

    Carry on!

haha I know what picture made you think of this.
My sister is the one in the photo and either my dad or my BIL took the pic.
I will point this out to her.
she scares me to death with a shotgun.

Follow or look at the Facebook pages of several hunting outfitters and you will see it regularly in their LDP's. I pointed it out one time and got scolded for reminding them of safety.

Funny how people do that. My sister is like a ****** off rattle snake when you get on to her about gun safety. Last weekend she and her husband were shooting at turtles in the pond 100 yrs from the house in the direction of the house and when I told her that was very stupid she got mad.
I try and stay away from her when she is around guns.

For most people that is just a defense mechanism because they know that they should have been smarter about it. But it's easier to get mad at you than to admit their mistake.

People get caught up in the moment and don't take the time to think. Gotta be priority one.

I never shoot a trophy so I don't have to worry about it.

Very few come back from a head shot

Lots of time it's perspective and the gun isn't actually pointed at the person

I have quit dove hunting in large groups and nearly quit all together because of this. Seems like dove season for most is an excuse to drink up all the excess thats been saved up since deer season and handle shotguns. I do still hunt with a buddy and his 12 year old son simply because his son handles a shotgun like a seasoned pro, and Ive complimented him on it many times.

Now i will party, most of the time more than I should, but its dang sure after the guns have been cased up.

It's ingrained in me to always know where the muzzle is pointing. Most people are the same way but we all do stupid mistakes from time to time. What one sees at a particular moment may look worse to someone else. Or it's a momentary brain fart... And brain farts can be hazardous...
